Relationships between patients and caregivers are always important, while the relationships between caregivers and relatives are less illuminated. The role of the related parties is not clearly defined within the health services. In recent years, numbers of breast cancer patients and their relatives have increased. These patients then turn to the nursing staff regarding their needs and expectations. If the nurse does not add significant weight to the needs of dependents, there is a risk that this in turn can lead to worsening mental mood and distress of the adult members, younger individuals in the family and patients. Family relationships can be adversely affected. The aim of this literary review was to examine relatives' experiences of living with a female breast cancer victim. On this basis caregivers can meet the relatives’ needs adequately. The literature review consists of quality items that are sought through the scientific databases. The method was based on Febe Friberg. The studies were reviewed and rated using a modified examination protocol. The methodical processing of the obtained materials has shown that relatives' experiences occur in different ways. This has resulted into four broad themes: emotional experiences, new roles, the need for knowledge and the need for treatment. To meet relatives of breast cancer patients and satisfy their need for attentive knowledge, a nurse should have not only medical but educational skills in order to explain the best way forward. And be able to act based on psychological starting points to anticipate and prevent potential complications.
