English abstract
The purpose with the study was to examine how social workers experience their workplace and what impact the workplace has on social workers. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five social workers. The participants have been working in social welfare in the city of Malmö shortly after graduating. The result has been analysed by a category narrative and theories by Aron Antovskys KASAM theory and Richard Lazarus coping theory. The study shows that work related stress due to workload is ongoing and affect the informants in many different ways. The participants experienced that they did not have any control over their work load and their amount of clients. They experienced a high workload which had a negative impact on helping the clients. They experienced a conflict in roles between clients and the workplace. Furthermore the study indicated that the participants felt that they lacked influence in the workplace.
