English abstract
The aim of this study is to examine school social workers experienced effects of pornography on children and adolescents. The study has a qualitative approach and consists of four semi structured interviews. The collected data is analyzed by using Simon and Gagnons (1986) theory of scripts. The results shows that social workers at school experiences that pornography use is widely spread among youth. The young has to deal with the sexual script that the pornography depicts but also the fact that pornography is socially unacceptable. This might lead them to a feeling of guilt and shame which adds on to the difficulty of talking about pornography. Further, the interviewees expresses a fear that watching pornography, as a youth, will effect stereotypical thinking considering gender and their perceptions of sex and sexuality. The school social workers also acknowledge that there is a need to discuss pornography with their students, in order to give them tools to be critical to the sexual script depicted in pornography.
