This essay is about how a good boss is, and how a good boss in care of the elderly can be defined. The questions that this essay is built on are: Is it personal maturity or good characteristics that make a person a good boss? Is it about making a career, interest, power or personal development? What drives a person to work as a boss? To answer our questions, we used a qualitative method. We conducted six interviews with different directors in care of the elderly. In our result, we have worked up our interviews according to the Ground Theory. Our analysis is connected to a humanistic approach and a situational and developmental focused leadership.
