    Abstract [en]

The aim of the literature review was to investigate how relatives to persons suffering from dementia, experience the importance of the support from the nursing staff. Our questions were: How important is it with support from the nursing staff for relatives to persons whos suffering from dementia and which consequences could it be for the relatives if they dont get the support they need from the nursing staff. We used nine scientific articles that answered our questions. The result showed that mental, physical, social support and information from the nursing staff were of great value for relatives to persons who are suffering from dementia. The result even showed that lack of support and information resulted in stress and mental, physical and social bad health for relatives to persons whos suffering from dementia. The literature review illuminated what support is and which consequences it would be with the lack of support and information from the nursing staff. In the discussion we illustrated: that the nurse had an important role when it applies to give the relatives to persons whos suffering from dementia excellent support and clear information.
