This paper is a thesis work of 22,5 hp, that was made on behalf of SONO inredningar and Tranås skolmöbler. It was executed by Sara Storm, a student at the program of Product design at Malmö University, during the spring 2012. The thesis is focused on classroom acoustics in Primary schools but is also looking at how pupils use their chairs while in class. Can a school chair contribute to a better sound environment in class rooms and offer a good ergonomic seating comfort for the pupil? The result was a chair, where materials and construction techniques reduces noise and with its tilt function allows for a flexible seating.
