    Abstract [en]

The aim of this essay is to examine how active educators work with communication through aesthetic expressions. We have examined how work with different expressions can promote children's learning and development in school. We have asked the question whether radical and modest aesthetic can be assembled and have found it to be successful but the modest aesthetic is more dominant in school. We have used qualitative interviews and which we have interviewed five different teachers, two class teachers and three teachers with a main subject in aesthetic. Each teacher has told us about their work with students in school in these three areas: communication, multimodality and aesthetic expressions. We have also compared the class teachers and teachers with a main subject in aesthetic to be able to find similarities and differences between them. The result of the study shows that basic idea of communication is meetings between people and these are both the subject teachers and the class room teachers trying to create in school. In our study, we found out that a good self-esteem and a safety in their selves are important for both pupils and teachers in the process of aesthetic expressions in school.
